Ethan and I met during Freshman year of Highschool and instantly hit it off. It
was theater class but since the semester play was nearing opening night, the
period was used as more of a study hall. Ethan was the new kid in class and I
was in the corner playing on a beat-up DS.
It was by chance he decided to sit at my table and we just started talking. It
felt like getting to catch up with an old friend. Even a couple of the kids around
us joked that we acted like we were already dating. And by the end of that day
we were.
The story tells itself from there. It was the typical Highschool on and off again
romance. By Senior year we decided to take a break from dating and tried to
remain friends.
We slowly but surely lost contact after that. Ethan went to college on the other
side of the state and I stayed local. Between his school and my work there
wasn’t a lot of time or energy to talk. It wasn’t until 2 years later that we
connected again. The pandemic had shut everything down and Ethan was
back.
Somehow, we connected again. We started talking and built up the
relationship again. There were definitely some hiccups, but we’d come
back even stronger from each one. Now, here we are, planning a future together!
It took a lot to get to where we are now, but we know we wouldn’t change
anything about it.
